Bioi w a n n a b a t h e y o u i n t h e l i g h t o f d a y BACKGROUND † Eric was made vampire in early 10'th century Scandinavia by a Roman vampire named Appius Livius Ocella while returning from the dwelling of a prospective Kona after his previous had been taken by the fever shortly after childbirth. His return was not meant to be, and the vampire Appius instead took Eric under his tutelage in the ways of vampire kind, leaving the Norseman's mortal life far behind for the undeath he had been bestowed with. Ocella made a formidable and wise maker, though in the earlier years of their companionship Eric had been forced into sexual relations with his master before later taking his leave and venturing forth into his immortality on his own. Much of Eric's human life was spent in battle, conquering foreign territories and pillaging the wealth of those whose political power had been overthrown. Command of both political and military dealings were a common duty in his mortal life, an ambitious thirst for control that would follow him into his vampire life. During his adulthood he married the widow of his deceased brother, a woman named Aude who would father him six children, three of which would not survive the harsh climate and pestilence of the land, a misfortune that would later claim her own life. His life as a vampire has been eventful, and not so unlike his human life in the respect of once more being in a position of political power. Once the territories had been established in the United States, Eric settled in Louisiana and accepted the responsibility of Sheriff as granted by the vampire Queen of Louisiana. This entitlement would ensure his control of Area Five, an expanse of land that would cover most Northern and Western portions of the state. PERSONALITY † Eric has many different facets to his personality, though the number of times he's shown those particular aspects to anyone could be counted upon one hand. The outside world receives the ruthless, menacing businessman who weaves diplomacy with manipulation so successfully that those in his debt rarely know they're being blackmailed, and if they do, they're too frightened to decline whatever proposition he's made. He's calm and calculating and doesn't miss much, which makes him a very formidable and dangerous opponent. Disloyalty is an unforgivable crime in his world and he executes whatever form of justice he sees fit for punishment without a bat of an eye, no matter how grizzly it might be. The other side, the one he keeps behind lock and key, has a far gentler quality. He can exhibit a surprisingly thoughtful and caring disposition to those closest to him, but such lighthearted and vulnerable feelings to do not come naturally and he often hides these weaknesses more than he shows them. As self-serving, pompous and indifferent to the pain of others as he might be, he is capable of love and sacrifice, an emotion that when discovered can become a constant source of frustration for the otherwise apathetic vampire. DESCRIPTION † Of Scandinavian descent, Eric was pale even before the last breath escaped his lungs. He's also extremely tall, even for a man of this modern century at an intimidating six foot five that he uses to his advantage quite frequently. Like the fair complexion of his skin, the golden mane of blond hair is no different, and it falls just shy of very broad, well muscled shoulders that only lead into a predictably well defined chest. This only further accentuates the ice blue of his stare that is both ancient and cold, as well as the lifeless curve of a mouth that is neither too thin nor too full and as inviting as it is deadly. Eric is, to all intents and purposes, a walking, talking and lethal romance novel cover.  DETAILS † The Eric portrayed in this journal is a combination of both the novels and HBO television series, because of this, you might find a few spoilers here and there in the future—depending upon the direction the writers take the show. While Eric is a lover of many, I do have a certain fondness for the Sookie and Eric pairing, so you’ll probably see some of that around here as well.
